ArmenTel’s broadband Internet available in 38 cities in Armenia
YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. ArmenTel (Beeline brand) has expanded the area of access to its Hi Line Internet, the company’s press office reported on Wednesday.
Now residents of 38 Armenian cities, including Agarak, Aparan, Artik, Baghramyan, Vardenis, Kajaran, Martuni, Metsamor and Nor Hachn, can enjoy Hi Line Internet access.
“In recent months, ArmenTel not only expanded the area of Hi Line access, but also enlarged the capacity of its network in those residential spots already having access to this service,” Igor Klimko, director general of ArmenTel, said on Wednesday.
He said that the company was ready to connect at least 100,000 new users to Hi Line.
Klimko is convinced that the company’s large-scale programs on provision of broadband Internet services in the capital and provinces spur the development of information space in the country.
HiLine service is based on ADSL technology ensuring a fast access to Internet on a common telephone line, which remains free for phone calls.
ArmenTel mobile and fixed telecommunication operator, a subsidiary of Russia’s VimpelCom, started providing Hi-Line, a high-quality and fast Internet connection based on ADSL technology, in 2007. By late 2009, Hi Line was available in 24 cities in Armenia. -0-
