Armenian mobile and internet operators pay 13.9 billion drams in taxes for first half of 2018

YEREVAN, July 30. /ARKA/. Mobile and Internet operators in Armenia -VivaCell-MTS, VEON Armenia (trading as Beeline), Ucom and GNC Alfa (trading as Rostelecom in Armenia), paid a total of 13.9 billion drams in various taxes in the first half of 2018, up from 12.3 billion drams they had paid for the same time span of 2017, according to the list of 1000 largest corporate taxpayers, published by the State Revenue Committee (SRC).

According to the SRC, more than 13.85 billion drams of that amount were collected by tax authorities and about 95.7 million drams by customs authorities. Of that amount 5.9 billion drams were collected as direct taxes and 5.2 billion drams as indirect taxes.

VivaCell-MTS was said to have paid 5.6 billion drams (11th in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers), an increase of 21.7% compared to the same period in 2017. VEON Armenia (trading as Beeline) paid 3.85 billion drams (17th place), which is by 13.48% less than in the first six months of 2017. Ucom’s taxes increased by 35.7% to 3.8 billion drams (18th place). GNC-Alfa paid 645.6 million drams (126th place), up from 298.2 million drams paid for the first half of 2017.

Overall, Armenia’s 1000 largest corporate taxpayers paid over 446.6 billion drams in various taxes in the first half of 2018, by 18% or 68.1 billion drams more than in the same period of time in 2017.
